Is learning Hebrew a long process?
Let’s put it that way – learning every new skill is a long process. Especially if you want to master it, and if you want to impress other people with it. When it comes to languages it’s even a little bit longer because there are a lot of parts to consider. The case for Hebrew is even longer because there is a whole new alphabet to learn as the letters are way different from what we are used to in English or European languages. But a lot of people forget that the longer the process- the better the results. It allows you to get in deep to each subject and get a fundamental understanding of what you are learning, so you can be more engaged in it. Quick and interactive lessons are also great and could be very educational but it also has the chance to miss out a lot of important ideas and information you could get with longer and more thorough Hebrew classes.
How can I know how long it will take for me?
- The actual learning time, from the day you start to the day you are fluent, differs from person to person. It depends on a few criteria:
- Your past knowledge and how much Hebrew you already know by far.
- How fluent do you want to be? Is it just to get by in your daily life in israel? Is it for a job application? Is it just for the fun of learning a new language (which is super fun!!!)? Your final goal will determine how long it should take you.
- How committed are you? It’s totally fine to take the Hebrew lessons easily. Everybody has got their own pace and their own way to do stuff, and eventually it is supposed to be a fun experience for you! But the more easily you take it, the longer it might get. Which is perfectly fine, just make sure to not lose interest somewhere along the way!
And remember that you don’t have to physically go to school to learn hebrew! You get to decide what your Hebrew learning process will look like. So even if you are busy with your own life, which totally makes sense- you can always get an online Hebrew class, and learn from wherever you want with a real Hebrew teacher online!
How long do your online Hebrew classes take?
Here in Citizen Cafe we have 8 levels of Hebrew lessons that you can take online when each of the lessons is 90 minutes. Before starting your Hebrew lessons, you will get an assessment on your Hebrew level so we would know on which level to assign you. But anyways, on each level you will get the benefits of an online Hebrew classes, and see for yourself how easy Hebrew is! Each of the lessons will have a Hebrew teacher online who will lead the course and will answer all of your questions, no matter how long they will take. Eventually you will see that you don’t even care how long the whole learning experience takes you, because you will enjoy it so much that it just won’t bother you anymore.
